NABCB transition dates, next to the international ones

Global ACI sets the international transition rules. NABCB applies them in India through its own policies, and its dates can come months earlier. If you are NABCB-accredited, the earlier date is the one that binds you.

Last reviewed 27 September 2026. We update this page the day NABCB publishes a new transition policy.

ISO 14001:2026

30 September 2026

Awaited

NABCB policy

NABCB has not yet published its ISO 9001:2026 transition policy. On the ISO 14001 precedent, expect a self-declaration date earlier than Global ACI's.

Global ACI: your declaration

The latest international date for a certification body's readiness declaration.

31 March 2028

Global ACI: no new 2015 certificates

New and initial certifications only to ISO 9001:2026.

30 September 2029

End of transition

Every client transition, including issue of the certificate, complete.

Do not wait for the NABCB policy to start. Competence evidence for everyone in scope, updated procedures and your position on audit time are needed whichever date NABCB sets. What ISO 9001:2026 requires of certification bodies

Already behind you: ISO/IEC 27006-1:2024

For information security certification bodies, NABCB's policy for ISO/IEC 27006-1:2024 required certification body transitions by 30 September 2025 and all certified clients on the new edition by 31 March 2026. It shows the pattern: NABCB's dates for the certification body come well before the international end date.

What to do this quarter

  1. 1

Confirm your ISO 14001 declaration reached NABCB. And diarise the transition assessment it leads to.

  2. 2

Prepare for ISO 9001:2026 as if the NABCB date were early 2027. Training and competence sign-off for auditors, technical reviewers, decision makers and application reviewers.

  3. 3

Plan both programmes as one load. They draw on the same people. Model the peak quarter
