Transition load planner
Enter your certificate counts and auditor capacity. See the peak number of transition audits you have to deliver each quarter, and what it costs to start late. No signup, and nothing you type leaves your browser.
Throughput means transition audits each auditor can absorb on top of their existing programme, not their total audit load. Enter 0 for a standard you do not certify. The example figures are illustrative. Replace them with your own.

What this means
Starting in Q1 2027 fits inside your capacity, peaking at 54 a quarter. Start six months late and the peak rises to 69, which exceeds your capacity of 60. The cost of waiting is not a busier 2028. It is a programme you can no longer deliver.
| Additional audit time | Figure |
|---|---|
| Total additional audit days, both standards | 250 |
| In a peak quarter, on time | 27 |
| Per auditor in a peak quarter | 2.3 |
How this is calculated
- Two windows, starting together. Both programmes start in Q1 2027, the earliest realistic start once auditors are signed off and your accreditation body is ready. ISO 9001 runs to Q2 2029 (ten quarters), because every transition, including certificate issue, must be complete by 30 September 2029. ISO 14001 runs to Q4 2028 (eight quarters), because its transition ends on 30 April 2029. The last three months of each go to nonconformity closure, technical review and the certification decision.
- Certificates are spread evenly. Real certificate bases cluster around renewal dates, so your true peak quarter will be higher than shown. Treat these figures as a floor.
- Each certificate counts as one transition audit. If you will transition both standards for a client at one integrated visit, count that client once under ISO 14001 and deduct it from ISO 9001. Those clients are then bound by the earlier ISO 14001 window.
- Audit time and throughput are yours to set. Transition audits can be carried out at scheduled surveillance or recertification visits, or as separate special audits. Any extra time is your decision, justified under ISO/IEC 17021-1 and IAF MD 5. That is why both are inputs here.

This planner is a planning aid. Audit duration, programme and certification decisions remain the responsibility of your certification body.
Certyze runs the certification lifecycle for accredited bodies: auditor and reviewer competence, IAF MD 5 man-day calculation and certificate control in one place. Those are the three things your transition declarations have to evidence. If this model matches the problem you are looking at, we are happy to talk it through.
